Certificate IV in Aged Care - SELMAR
The Certificate IV in Aged Care Care will enable you to gain the knowledge, skills and professional attributes to become team leaders and managers of complex care and low care aged facilities within the community.
During the Certificate IV in Aged Care course you will: -
• Maximise your role within the Aged Care facility, nursing home or social working environment, making yourself more employable
• Be more qualified for a number of rewarding and satisfying roles with the Aged Care industry
• Be in a position to go on to study a diploma of Nursing and then moving on to a Bachelor degree in Social Work or even a
Bachelor of Nursing Midwifery Degree
• You will gain knowledge and skills required by Team Leaders and complex care coordinators and may be required to coordinate a
limited number of other workers

Pre-requisites for the Certificate IV in Aged Care
To gain entry into CHC40108 Certificate IV in Aged Care a candidate must be recognised as competent, through a recognised training program or recognition process, against the following core units from CHC30208 Certificate III in Aged Care (or equivalent):

CHCAC319A Provide support to people living with dementia
CHCCS411A Work effectively in the community sector
CHCICS303A Support individual health and emotional well being
CHCPA301B Deliver care services using a palliative approach

The Victorian State Government supports learning and development for those wishing to advance in their career. In order to receive full government funded training the candidate must satisfy the following requirements:
