Children's Services Course

Diploma of Children's Services - SELMAR

The Diploma of Children's Services course is aimed at those who have already achieved the diploma of children’s services and wish to develop their leadership and management skills within the childcare industry.

During the Diploma of Children's Services you will:  Diploma of Children's Services

•         Further develop your skills across a wide range of functions
          required within the children’s services industry
•         Gain skills and knowledge which can be applied in the responsible planning, implementing and
          management of programs with early childhood services
•         Be equipped to work with children from 0-5 years of age
•         Have the ability to manage and address the children’s services workplace regulations  

Working with Children’s Check for the Diploma of Children's Services 

It is a requirement when working or volunteering in Children’s Services to hold a current Working with Children card. This card must be applied for immediately as it can take several months for your application to be processed. You may not be able to commence your work placement if you do not have a current WWC card. Your application needs to be lodged at Australia Post with the required identification.

Pre-requisite's - Diploma of Children's Services 

The Certificate III in Children’s Services must be successfully completed before undertaking the Diploma of Children’s Services

Pathways for further study after the Diploma of Children's Services

Students may obtain recognition for their studies to gain entry to degree or advanced diploma courses at a University or with a private provider.  Candidates having completed the Diploma may receive credits for part of these courses.

Eligibility for Government Funded Training for the Diploma of Children's Services

The Victorian State Government supports learning and development for those wishing to advance in their career. In order to receive full government funded training the candidate must satisfy the following requirements:

•       Be an Australian citizen or Permanent resident
•       Must not already hold a qualification at diploma level or higher
