Diploma of Children's Services

This program is aimed at those who have already achieved the Certificate III children’s services and wish to develop their leadership and management skills within the childcare industry

During the course you will: -  Diploma Children's Services 
    
•         Further develop your skills across a wide range of functions required within the
           children’s services industry
•         Gain skills and knowledge which can be applied in the responsible planning,
           implementing and management of programs with early childhood services
•         Be equipped to work with children from 0-5 years of age
•         Have the ability to manage and address the children’s services workplace regulations  

Working with Children’s Check

It is a requirement when working or volunteering in Children’s Services to hold a current Working with Children card. This card must be applied for immediately as it can take several months for your application to be processed. You may not be able to commence your work placement if you do not have a current WWC card. Your application needs to be lodged at Australia Post with the required identification.

Pre-requisite

The Certificate III in Children’s Services must be successfully completed before undertaking the Diploma of Children’s Services

Pathways for further study

Students may obtain recognition for their studies to gain entry to Degree or Advanced Diploma courses at a University or with a private provider.  Candidates having completed the Diploma may receive credits for part of these courses.

Entry Requirements

International students applying for entry into all vocational courses are required to have completed at least 10 years of schooling. 
International students are required to have an IELTS level of 5.5 or a TOEFL of 550.  Students whose language of education is not English and do not provide evidence of their IELTS level must complete SELMAR Institute of Education’s English Language Entry Test. This test may be conducted offshore by Agents.
