Excursions

SELMAR Institute of Education's Student Welfare Staff organises excursions that international students may attend. These excursions are additional costs to course or study fees. Costs vary for each excursion and some are overnight, SELMAR tries to purchase group discounts or comparative prices for students.


Great Ocean Road - Overnight

These is the breath-taking coastline of south-west Victoria, Australia. Travel one of the world's most scenic roads through an extended area that includes the world-famous Twelve Apostles, the Otways rainforest, Bells Beach, on the Surf Coast, and the Great Ocean Road itself. Experience resort towns like Torquay, Lorne and Apollo Bay, the coastal cities of Geelong and Warrnambool, and the historic villages of Queenscliff, Port Campbell, Port Fairy and Portland.

IMAX Theatre

Experience one of the world largest IMAX movie screen with crystal clear images. Seeing a movie at Melbourne IMAX is more like a real life adventure and is an experience one must do to understand how amazing it really is. Enjoy and make sure to grab some yummy popcorn before the show!

Melbourne Cricket Ground – AFL Game

Come to the heart of the sports zone where top level Cricket and football games take place. Australian Cricket and Football games are an experience in which any sports fan will enjoy. Come out and enjoy these cultural sport events while having some beers and hot dogs at the cool Cricket grounds. The grounds also host concerts from a range of musical performances.

Queen Victoria Market

With over 1000 traders within the market, the Queen Victoria Market is Victoria's world premier outdoor market. You can shop for a range of items such as fashion, plants, crafts, souvenirs and fresh produce.

St Paul's Cathedral

St Paul Cathedral is a perfect day event to take the kids and enjoy the variety of sights of the Cathedral. It is a gothic style, Anglican cathedral containing mosaics, carvings and stained glass pipe works.

Melbourne Zoo

Melbourne Zoo is an internationally known zoo that has recreated a natural habitat for its amazing animals. Every year tourist and animal lovers flock to the Melbourne Zoo to get a glimpse at some of the most exotic animals.

Phillip Island

Phillip Island is only 140 kilometers south-east of Melbourne. The Little Penguins (fairy penguins) who are native to Phillip Island bring in many thousands of tourists to watch their nightly return from the sea.

Mt Buller - Overnight

Mt Buller is a true winter wonderland where you can enjoy a new range of magical snow experiences. Feel the adrenaline as you ski down a black diamond run or unwind in a luxurious day spa. Enjoy a tranquil meal overlooking snowy vistas or build a snowman.

Luna Park

Luna Park is a historical amusement park situated at the picturesque Port Phillip Bay in St Kilda, Melbourne. Dozens of theatrical productions are staged each week in Melbourne, ranging from mainstream musicals to experimental works. Catch a blockbuster at the beautifully-restored Regent and Princess theatres or head to the Arts Centre and Malthouse to catch high-quality local productions.
